Lake County United held a virtual Assembly attended by 185 concerned citizens on May 16, 2022. Issues reported on include affordable housing, mental health and gun violence.

LCU hosted a May 16th virtual Assembly attended by 185 concerned citizens. Our initiatives Essential Housing for Essential Workers, Winchester Attainable Housing, Mental Health, and Gun Safety presented on what we’ve been working toward. There have been some new developments since then! Winchester House Initiative will be presenting at the Lake County Board July 12th, 9:00am at the Administrative Complex, 10th FL, 18 N County Street, Waukegan, IL in Waukegan to ask what steps the board suggest or department we should be in contact with that allows a smooth transition. Most importantly, it is to make them aware of this being a  collective community need.

The Essential Housing for Essential Workers is also moving forward! As mentioned at the May 16th Assembly, we are gearing up to sit down with Governor Pritzker, House Speaker Welch, Senate President Harmon, US Senators, State legislators and local elected officials on July 17th.

The News-Sun newspaper reported on the Assembly. Click on the link below to read a recap of the article.
